Week 12 - Mystic

These are from a recent trip to Mystic, CT. Mystic is a cute little old sea faring town. They have a main street full of great shops. At one end is the draw bridge over the Mystic River. Further up the river is the Mystic Seaport, a maritime museum. Mystic also has a nice aquarium too if your visiting. The lunch is a gluten-free pizza (chicken, Gorgonzola, and spinach), a Greek salad and my favorite Izze soda. All from this great little restaurant called Pizzetta, just off the main street. Week 10

Last weekend I went to Logee's Greenhouse in Danielson, CT. They specialize in tropical plants. Walking through the aisles you feels almost like you have entered a jungle. The paths are very narrow and you have to duck under the trailing vines of Bougainvillea and citrus trees. It was the perfect escape from winter. More photos on Flickr.

Week 9

I went to a CT Flickr Meet-up at the end of February. This one was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, CT. I'm not fond of cemeteries to begin with, but I did get a few shots that don't give me the hebegebees. I do have to say there were some beautiful monuments. I'll have some more digital pictures on Flickr.

Week 8 (Roll 2)

The other week I needed a break from all this winter weather. The Rhode Island Flower Show sounded like the right answer. It's held every year in Providence, RI. There was a mix of beautiful gardens and patio displays that would look good at any home as well as few theme displays.

I couldn't resist taking a picture of this sand sculpture. It was amazing the amount of detail they could add.

Week 8 (Roll 1)

A few photos from one of the best places to look for antiques, the Antique Market Place in Putnam, CT. The first five photos are from this one booth; they had such great displays. I wanted to buy everything in the apothecary grouping.
